Classical

The main difference between classical and other styles is that it is played on a nylon string guitar - these guitars have a softer tone and in some respects are easier to play, so are especially recommended for young beginners.

Going the classical route is the best way to achieve an overall understanding of music. Although it is recommended to learn to read notation for classical guitar, it is not entirely necessary.

Along with folk and blues, classical styles are the biggest influence on modern-day guitar, and each musical period and related style (such as Spanish, flamenco and bossa nova), offers a vast and exhilarating repertoire.
